Monk Build: WoH Ninja

This is Monk build designed for PvP that works well in RA, TA and Alliance Battles (AB). The build has everything a monk needs and has proven extremely effective for myself in obtaining my gladiator titles.

Template Code: OwcT0Yo+RSjoB0fICECklQgpBCA

Monk/Assassin
Divine Favor: 11 (10+1)
Healing Prayers: 16 (12+4)
Shadow Arts: 8

Word of Healing [Elite] (Healing Prayers)
Patient Spirit (Healing Prayers)
Vigorous Spirit (Healing Prayers)
Spotless Soul (Healing Prayers)
Spotless Mind (Healing Prayers)
Contemplation of Purity (Divine Favor)
Return (Shadow Arts)
Dark Escape (Shadow Arts)

This is a high powered healing build with a large amount of cheap condition and hex removal. 'Spotless Soul' will remove 7 conditions and 'Spotless Mind' removes 4 hexes, each for the cost of 5 energy with a quarter second cast (works over a period of 19 seconds). 'Contemplation of Purity' (CoP) is your only self condition and hex removal, so be sure to use it wisely. Always keep 'Vigorous Spirit' on yourself at all times. It will keep your health up during degen and provide a cheap enchant for CoP to remove. Use 'Patient Spirit' as an extra enchant to CoP off, and it will heal you for 126 health as well. 'Return' is an extremely effective way to get out of heavy melee and other tricky situations. Use 'Dark Escape' if you being spiked or taking heavy damage. It will provide you with some time to get back on your feet. The rest of the time, just use Word of Healing (WoH) to keep everyone's health high. The best part about this build is that all your spells except WoH are a quarter second cast, which is extremely helpful versus interrupters.

I use a +5 energy sword with a 20% enchant bonus on it and a HSR +30 healing focus. The important thing is the 20% enchant bonus because it means Spotless Soul and Mind remove an additional condition and hex. For extra health you can run Survivor's insignias with a major or minor healing rune. I prefer Blessed insignias with an expert healing rune. A 'Recovery' rune is also handy to have on your armour to reduce daze and deep wound.

Assassin Build: Scythe Sin

This is a high damage PvP build that has everything except a self heal:

Template Code: OwpiMypM9fBgxc1cp/cmtIKAAA

Assassin/Dervish
Critical Strikes: 16 (12+4)
Scythe Mastery: 12
Crippling Sweep (Scythe Mastery)
Wounding Strike [Elite] (Scythe Mastery)
Mystic Sweep (Scythe Mastery)
Eremite's Attack (Scythe Mastery)
Critical Eye (Critical Strikes)
Assassin's Remedy (Critical Strikes)
Way of the Master (Critical Strikes)
Resurrection Signet ( )

The Scythe Sin is not a new build, people have been running it for a very long time. It works well because it provides an enormous amount pressure to the opposing team, via direct damage and spreading conditions. You have a %80 critical strike rate with a weapon that does 41 damage on a critical hit. Factor in the other bonuses and your average damage per hit is between 90-110. Blind doesn't effect this build because of Assassin's Remedy, which removes a condition every time you use a skill. This build depends heavily on a monk or ritualist to keep you alive, as it has no defense or healing. If you find you are dying too quickly, you can swap in Critical Defenses for Critical Eye. Be sure to keep your enchantments up as Wounding Strike and Mystic Sweep are less effective without them.

I use a 20/20 Sundering +30 health scythe and radiant armour. You can also run a minor Critical Strikes rune in order to maximize your health.

Mesmer Build: Cheeky Thief

This PvP build is a lot of fun to play and doesn't require a lot of skill to get right:

Template code: OQNDAcwzMCVTYUoCgBzgWAdC

Mesmer/Monk
Fast Casting: 13 (12+1)
Illusion Magic: 16 (12+4)
Inspiration Magic: 3
Signet of Illusions [Elite] (Illusion Magic)
Arcane Larceny (Domination Magic)
Arcane Thievery (Domination Magic)
Inspired Enchantment (Inspiration Magic)
Revealed Enchantment (Inspiration Magic)
Revealed Hex (Inspiration Magic)
Inspired Hex (Inspiration Magic)
Restore Life (Healing Prayers)

You just cast Signet of Illusions and then what ever spells you like. Don't forget to use Signet of Illusions before casting Arcane Thievery/Larceny or else you will only steal the spells for 7 seconds. The best part about this build is that you can alter your strategy depending on the kind of team you're facing. For example if are facing a heavy damage team, you can steal spells off their monk and use them to heal your monk, or if you are facing a team with little healing, you can steal spells off the elementalist or other damage casters and send them back at them. The trick is to know what strategy to use and when. A good little trick when fighting on priest levels is to steal the priest's heal area. Since he will be unable to heal himself, you can just wand him down. The other bonus is that you act as a form of hex removal, which greatly assists any monk under pressure. The hard res is also a big bonus (dont forget Signet of Illusions first).
